We nodigen je van harte uit voor de collegedag van onze Think Residency op donderdag 25 juni in het Stadhuis Terneuzen, p.s. Nesse en Nesse in Terneuzen.

Sinds de opening van Nesse in april 2025 is er veel gebeurd. We begeleiden kunstenaars in het ontwikkelen van werk in de regio en in relatie tot maatschappelijke vraagstukken, en hebben internationale denkers en onderzoekers aan onze werking weten te verbinden. Op 25 juni nemen we je mee door al onze activiteiten en denkrichtingen in de vorm van een collegedag.

De dag opent met lezingen door drie internationale sprekers. Pascal Gielen (UAntwerpen), socioloog en auteur, spreekt over kunst- en culturele praktijken in relatie tot de commons, publieke ruimte en maatschappij. Prof. Dr. Christel Stalpaert (UGent), theaterwetenschapper, gaat in op de nood aan gewortelde verbindingen om betekenisvolle relaties aan te gaan en producties te bewerkstelligen. Lara Garcia Diaz, kunstenaar en onderzoeker, neemt je mee in haar werk over zorgrelaties binnen nieuwe samenwerkingsvormen.

In de middag bezoeken we p.s. Nesse, waar 34 studenten van de Design Academy Eindhoven hun projectvoorstellen voor de binnenstad van Terneuzen presenteren. Vervolgens trekken we naar de tuin van Nesse aan de Mr. F.J. Haarmanweg 25, waar huurders en residenten je ontvangen met een rondleiding door de tuin en een performance door Myrthe van der Mark. We sluiten de dag af met een gezamenlijk diner, bereid door kunstenaar Asli Hatipoglu.

We warmly invite you to the lecture day of our Think Residency on Thursday 25 June at the Stadhuis Terneuzen, p.s. Nesse and Nesse in Terneuzen. Since the opening of Nesse in April 2025, a great deal has happened. We guide artists in developing work in the region and in relation to societal issues, and have managed to connect international thinkers and researchers to our practice. 

On 25 June we will take you through all our activities and lines of thinking in the form of a lecture day. The day opens with lectures by three international speakers. Pascal Gielen (UAntwerpen), sociologist and author, speaks about artistic and cultural practices in relation to the commons, public space and society. Prof. Dr. Christel Stalpaert (UGent), theatre scholar, addresses the need for rooted connections in order to engage in meaningful relationships and bring about productions. Lara Garcia Diaz, artist and researcher, takes you into her work on care relations within new forms of collaboration. 

In the afternoon we visit p.s. Nesse, where 34 students from the Design Academy Eindhoven present their project proposals for the Terneuzen city centre. We then move to the garden of Nesse at Mr. F.J. Haarmanweg 25, where tenants and residents welcome you with a tour of the garden and a performance by Myrthe van der Mark. We close the day with a communal dinner, prepared by artist Asli Hatipoglu.
