Met Shared Urgencies start Nesse een nieuwe residentielijn waarin kunstenaars en ontwerpers worden uitgenodigd om te werken aan urgente maatschappelijke vraagstukken in Zeeland. Deze residenties verbinden artistiek onderzoek met actuele thema’s waar de regio mee te maken heeft — van klimaat en ecologie tot industrie en leefomgeving. Binnen deze lijn werkt een externe opdrachtgever samen met Nesse aan een door hen aangedragen thematiek, waarin behoefte is aan meer verbeeldingskracht en nieuwe perspectieven.

De Stikstofafdeling van de Provincie Zeeland is de eerste externe opdrachtgever binnen de residentielijn Shared Urgencies. Zij hebben kunstenaar Charlotte Daniëlse geselecteerd voor een residentie bij Nesse. Tijdens haar onderzoek richt Charlotte zich op het stikstofbeleid en natuurherstel, en gaat ze in gesprek met betrokkenen om nieuwe vormen van verbinding, begrip en verbeelding rond dit complexe thema zichtbaar te maken!


With Shared Urgencies, Nesse launches a new residency strand that invites artists and designers to work on pressing societal issues in Zeeland. These residencies connect artistic research with current themes affecting the region — ranging from climate and ecology to industry and the living environment. Within this strand, an external commissioning partner works together with Nesse on a theme they propose, where there is a need for greater imagination and new perspectives.

The Nitrogen Department of the Province of Zeeland is the first external commissioning partner within the Shared Urgencies residency strand. They have selected artist Charlotte Daniëlse for a residency at Nesse. During her research, Charlotte focuses on nitrogen policy and nature restoration, engaging in dialogue with stakeholders to make new forms of connection, understanding and imagination around this complex issue visible.
