Kevin Caboor, Corneel Soeting en Lucas Mullié zijn als resident betrokken bij de bouw van de werkruimtes in Nesse. Binnen het onderzoekstraject Being In the World, waarin permanente infrastructuren in Nesse worden ontwikkeld, hebben zij het architecturale plan van Derk Thys vertaald naar een fysieke ruimte.
Kevin Caboor ontwerpt meubels, interieurs en objecten voor zowel bedrijven als particulieren die zijn visie op de wereld delen. Met een scherpe blik en een onuitputtelijke nieuwsgierigheid benadert hij elk project onbevangen en vol verbeeldingskracht. Zijn kracht ligt in het herdefiniëren van ruimtelijke identiteiten, waarbij speelsheid en humor een essentiële rol spelen. Door vakmanschap te combineren met hoogwaardige afwerking en duurzame materialen, creëert Caboor unieke ontwerpen die niet alleen functioneel zijn, maar ook verwondering oproepen en een glimlach teweegbrengen.
Corneel Soeting is een meubel- en interieurontwerper met een sterke maatschappelijke betrokkenheid. Duurzaamheid vormt de kern van zijn werk, waarbij hij voornamelijk sloophout hergebruikt en streeft naar een zo circulair mogelijk productieproces. Naast zijn activiteiten als ontwerper en maker is Soeting een bevlogen docent die zich richt op de creatieve ontwikkeling van kinderen en jongvolwassenen. Hij begeleidt hen in diverse kunstworkshops en speelt een centrale rol binnen ArtLab bij Toonbeeld. Zijn ontwerp- en bouwproces is sterk intuïtief en beeldend, iets wat hij zelf omschrijft als "denken in plankjes." Soeting richtte zich tijdens zijn residentietraject specifiek op de samenwerking met Praktijkschool De Sprong, waar hij meerdere stagiaires begeleidde en hen de kans bood praktijkervaring op te doen binnen het project.
Lucas Mullié is ontwerper, bouwer en mede-oprichter van ontwerpstudio Foodcurators. In zijn werk staat circulariteit centraal, waarbij hij voortdurend op zoek is naar duurzame en vernieuwende oplossingen binnen de wereld van voedsel en design. Als conceptontwikkelaar richt hij zich niet op "tijdloos" design, maar op transformaties binnen systemen en productiemethoden die nieuwe perspectieven openen. Of hij nu een nieuw koekje ontwerpt of een onderzoek uitvoert naar culinair erfgoed, hij haalt zijn inspiratie uit de diepere structuren van voedselproductie en -verwerking. Mullié ontwierp de werkruimtes samen met de architect en speelde een cruciale rol in de keuze van circulaire materialen, zoals ecologische verven (inclusief uienverf), isolatiematerialen van vlas en hergebruikte deuren en ramen.
Naast residenten Kevin Caboor, Lucas Mullié en Corneel Soeting hebben onder andere de stagiaires van Praktijkschool De Sprong, Denz de Kroon, Willem Wesdorp, Nelis Rokven en Bright Godwin meegewerkt aan de bouw van de werkruimtes in Nesse.
Kevin Caboor, Corneel Soeting and Lucas Mullié were involved as residents in the construction of the workspaces in Nesse. As part of the research trajectory ‘Being In the World’, in which permanent infrastructures are being developed in Nesse, they translated the architectural plan by Derk Thys into a physical space.
Kevin Caboor designs furniture, interiors and objects for both companies and private clients who share his vision of the world. Corneel Soeting is a furniture and interior designer with a strong sense of social engagement. Sustainability is at the core of his work: he primarily reuses reclaimed wood and strives for a production process that is as circular as possible. In addition to his work as a designer and maker, Soeting is a passionate teacher focused on the creative development of children and young adults. He guides them in various art workshops and plays a central role at ArtLab within Toonbeeld. His design and building process is highly intuitive and visual, something he describes himself as “thinking in planks.” During his residency, Soeting focused in particular on the collaboration with Praktijkschool De Sprong, where he mentored several interns and offered them the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the project.
Lucas Mullié is a designer, builder and co-founder of the design studio Foodcurators. His work centres around circularity, as he constantly searches for sustainable and innovative solutions in the fields of food and design. As a concept developer, he does not focus on “timeless” design, but on transformations within systems and production methods that open up new perspectives. Whether he is designing a new biscuit or conducting research into culinary heritage, he draws inspiration from the deeper structures of food production and processing. Mullié co-designed the workspaces together with the architect and played a key role in the selection of circular materials, including ecological paints (such as onion-based dyes), flax insulation, and reused doors and windows.
